Terrence Ancrum
Terrence Ancrum joined NCSSM in August 2024 as a mathematics instructor on our Morganton campus. Prior to this role, he served as a full-time math lecturer at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and taught both middle and high school in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools system. Terrence also collaborates with the Launch Years Math Organization Leadership Network as a member of North Carolina’s state team, focusing on improving educational pathways in higher education and supporting seamless transitions from high school to college. Terrence is passionate about enhancing students’ academic performance, confidence, and sense of belonging. He achieves this through research involving strategic math placement, improved advising, mentorship programs, and co-requisite courses for students needing additional support. Outside of work, Terrence enjoys spending time with family and friends. He is an avid reader of self-development, leadership, and biographies. He is also committed to maintaining both physical and nutritional health. This involves spreading health and wellness information. Driven by a strong sense of community, Terrence is dedicated to helping others grow, particularly through his service to youth and those who seek his expertise. He hopes his warm generous spirit and enthusiasm for life will greatly enrich the NCSSM community.
