Samantha Moore
Samantha Moore joined NCSSM-Morganton in July 2022 as a mathematics instructor. She grew up in Colorado and attended the University of Northern Colorado for her undergraduate degree, though she spent a semester studying abroad in Dublin. She then moved to North Carolina to earn her PhD in mathematics from UNC-Chapel Hill. During her time at Chapel Hill Samantha was a co-director of Girls Talk Math, which is a high school math camp aimed at encouraging female and non-binary students to pursue careers in STEM. Her favorite topics in math include RSA cryptography, classification of surfaces, and non-Euclidean geometry. In Samantha’s spare time, she enjoys hiking, spending time with her cat Pi, painting, consuming far too much coffee, and taking care of her plants.
