Michelle Rutowski

Michelle Rutowski joined NCSSM in August 2021 as the University Program Associate for the Mathematics Department. Michelle graduated from Meredith College and began her career as a teacher of music and drama in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System. After the births of her son and daughter, she transitioned to office management of a family business as well as Youth Choir Director at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, where she was also responsible for multiple music camps and adult musical productions. As her children grew, she accepted a new challenge as administrative assistant, zoning administrator, and event coordinator for The Village of Marvin. During her time with the village, she loved assisting the residents and organizing community events. In 2010, Michelle’s son graduated from NCSSM and she returned to education, accepting a position with Union County Public Schools as attendance counselor, where she worked for 11 years with the administration, staff, students, and parents of a cluster of four schools. Her responsibilities have included administrative and faculty support, records and report generation and analysis, working with students to address attendance issues, and event assistance. She is thrilled to be part of the NCSSM family!
